Saint Teresa of Calcutta CYO Dance
CYO will sponsor dances throughout the school
year. The goal is to insure a safe environment which gives our students
the opportunity to socialize while promoting the Christian values of our parish.
The dances are open to all 5th thru 8th
grade students who are parishioners of Saint Teresa of Calcutta as well as
parishioners from other Catholic schools in the region. Students who
attend dances are expected to follow the Conduct Code and Dress Code
below. To enter the dance, student must have a Dance Pass which can be
purchased online or at the door. Students should bring a Dance Pass and
current school ID to enter. Previous school year, library cards, YMCA cards,
report cards, etc are not considered proper ID and
cannot be used to gain admittance.
CYO representatives may inspect large jackets, purses
and backpacks before admitting a student to the dance. Students are
encouraged to leave purses and backpacks at home as they will be asked to leave
them outside the gym and will not be monitored during the dance. Students
bring valuables at their own risk.
For the duration of the dance, students will be expected
to be mindful of the following Dress
GIRLS : Casual clothes, jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts,
T-shirts or shirts that cover the navel, skirts or shorts (max 4” above the
knee), no low cut or strapless tops, no string tank tops, no clothing with
BOYS: Casual clothes, jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts, T-shirts
or shirts that cover the belt, shorts(knee length), no
clothing with offensive wording.
All dance styles must comply with standards of Christian
morality, standards that include modesty, safety and respect for each
other. CYO representatives will be the final judge if any student
behavior or dancing is deemed inappropriate. No running or sliding on the
violating any of these rules may have their parents phoned and may be asked to
leave the dance.
