The Holy Name Society of Saint Teresa of Calcutta is a member of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Holy Name Union and of the National Association of the Holy Name Society confraternity of the Catholic Church. Being Catholic means to live according to the life and example of Jesus Christ. The ministry of Jesus was one of love, mercy and service of peace and justice; and of reaching out to the marginalized oppressed, and most vulnerable in society. Members of the Holy Name Society are called to do no less.
Membership in the Holy Name Society is at the parish level. We welcome men of the parish to join our group at Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
Who are we?
We are a group of men from the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Limerick who are dedicated to honoring the Most Holy Name of Jesus, to improving and enhancing our parish community, and to having fun while we're doing it. We support the canonization of Blessed John of Vercelli, founder of the Holy Name Society.
What do we do?
We provide our time, talents, energy, and enthusiasm in support of Saint Teresa of
Calcutta Parish. We sponsor enjoyable events, speakers and community leaders. We help members or families who are in need. We visit the Parish homebound at Christmas with a flower. We support Saint Teresa of Calcutta school. Schedule an outing with the Reading Phillies. Hold fundraisers, donut sale, etc. Offer our help at or parish yearly festival. Our members are active in parish organizations. We support "Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat" group in having men from our parish attend a yearly retreat at Malvern on the last weekend of July.
When do we meet?
We meet once a month on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Library of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Education Center. No meetings are held in July and August.
To sponsor at least two events or activities that increase fellowship within our Society. To engage in fundraising activities in support of our parish needs. To double our membership. To schedule and coordinate two activities that demonstrate reverence to Jesus. To have fun!
